Benediction for the Resurrection of Christ

Arise,
you tired, worn bodies.
Death no longer
tramples you into the dust.
Let the burial linens
cascade onto the sand,
stretch your limbs out,
as your skin soaks in the warm sun.
Look around—
this desert valley has become a meadow.
Indeed, it has transformed into a garden.

Come alive!
Christ is recreating you.
Indeed, Christ is resurrecting you.

Take a deep breath in.
Now release,
slowly.
As the Ruach enters your lungs
and courses through your blood,
with Jesus walk out of the empty tomb
run to the empty tomb,
once again sit with Jesus enfleshed,
and walk with Him
into the garden
for the rest of eternity.

Today, remember the One
who re-members
and rest in the assurance
that it has finished—
Indeed, life has only just begun.
