Blessing for Time
May you sink into deep time,
settling into the hours that God has deemed good.
May you not rush nor hurry,
but rather welcome this season,
for everything has a time,
and all will be accomplished in time.
When it’s time to hug,
may you squeeze your loved ones close.
When it’s time to separate,
may you face the ending with confidence and say
farewell well.
When it’s time to celebrate,
may you smile wide and dance your ass off.
When it’s time to mourn,
may you invite grief into the room,
sit down with her, and weep.
When it’s time to plant,
may you dig into the soil,
trusting that what you sow will grow.
And when the branches do reach towards the sun,
may you pick plump fruit and give thanks to God.
When all swirls together in consuming chaos,
may you remember that God created the days,
and said that they were good.
So, so good.
